Grow QC conducts direct outreach to local companies that represent the Quad Cities' major employers in primary industries to maintain relationships with our local businesses. This allows us to discuss growth and expansion and share information about markets, trade, supply chain, government contracting, financial assistance, advocacy, workforce development and employee training.
Each year, Grow Quad Cities staff, along with representatives from our cities and Manufacturing Extension Partners (MEPs) visit companies in our primary industry sectors. This collaborative, proactive outreach and retention initiative helps us understand industry trends, and the growth and development needs facing our regional businesses.
Business retention and expansion (BRE) visits strengthen relationships with local businesses. Conducting on-site visits to record and track companies’ current and projected growth trajectories, talent demands, expansion opportunities, infrastructure and technology needs and concerns that could be assisted through legislative and regulatory advocacy are key. Results of BRE visits will inform Grow QC staff and municipal partners on efforts to ensure that Quad Cities employers receive the support necessary to sustain and grow their operations.
